PDP PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN FLAG-OFF: Gov. Makinde Speaks On Absence

Oyo State Governor and one of the five PDP Governors that boycotted the Party's Presidential campaign flag-off in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on Monday, Seyi Makinde has spoken up what happened.

Speaking to State House reporters in Abuja, Makinde said he has been very busy campaigning for the PDP to ensure victory during the 2023 general elections.

Five of the twelve PDP Governors led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State and Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, were absent for the second time in the Atiku/Okowa Presidential campaign event.

The group known as the G-5 governors together with their loyalists had pulled out of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council over differences arising from the Party's Presidential primary election won by former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

The aggrieved Governors had demanded the sack of the PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu as a minimal condition for peace and reconciliation, a condition that the Party has failed to meet.
