Since Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers State lost the Presidential ticket of Nigeria's main opposition political party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP at its national convention held on May 28th, 2022 in ABUJA, the nation's capital city, all has not been well in the house.
The group has consistently demanded for the resignation or sac of the incumbent national chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu in what it terms a geo-political balancing in the party polity.
Wike has accused many Party leaders of betrayal and wants a pound of flesh. He takes on the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar who defeated him to clinch the presidential ticket of the PDP for the 2023 general elections. accusing Atiku of not keeping his words on earlier promise on Ayu leaving office.
Day after day, the crisis in the PDP house deepens ahead of the commencement of campaigns in just few days away.
At a recent meeting with stalwarts of the PDP in Rivers State, Governor Wike spoke in deep words that play up fears of the possibility of working against the 2023 presidential project of his Party.
