Following a recent medical emergency, Jamie Foxx has made his comeback to the big screen with his latest film, "God Is a Bullet," just a little over two months later.
Based on the 1999 novel by Boston Teran, "God Is a Bullet" features Maika Monroe and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in the leading roles. The movie revolves around detective Bob Hightower (Coster-Waldau), who resigns from the police force after his ex-wife is murdered and his daughter is abducted by a satanic cult. Determined to find his daughter and seek justice, Hightower undergoes a transformation, acquiring tattoos, and infiltrates the cult. He joins forces with Case Hardin (Monroe), the sole female survivor of the cult, as they embark on a mission to track down the charismatic cult leader, Cyrus, while Case also seeks to reclaim her own strength and power.
Currently, "God Is a Bullet" is playing in select theaters, with a digital release planned for July 11. Director Nick Cassavetes expressed his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting its gritty, violent, and narrative, which has been in development for over 18 years.
Apart from "God Is a Bullet," Jamie Foxx has other exciting project on the horizon. "They Cloned Tyrone," in which he stars alongside John Boyega and Teyonah Parris, is set to be released on Netflix on July 21. Additionally, Foxx lends his voice to the character Bug, a dog, in the R-rated comedy "Strays," which will hit theaters on August 18.
Foxx's return to the screen has generated considerable anticipation among his fans, as he continues to demonstrate his versatile acting skills across various roles and genres.
