It is a season of political harvests for the opposition All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) ahead of the 2023 general elections in Ebonyi State, as a notable and influential former Women leader of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) for the Ebonyi Central Senatorial zone, Mrs. Beatrice Nkwuda defected to APGA with over 2,000 men, women and youths in her Ezza South Local Government Area.
Mrs. Nkwuda and her followers were reportedly received at a ceremony in her Acharaukwu Nsokara in Amagu/Nsokara Ward, Ezza South LGA.
In a remark, the immediate past APC Women leader who had served as a Senior Adviser on Primary Education to a former Governor in the State, Chief Martin Elechi said her decision to join APGA was not influenced by any inducements but on the captivity and manifestos of those currently running for various elective offices in the State under the platform of APGA.
"I want to thank God for this wonderful day. I know my people know me too well. I know Ebonyi people know me too well including Ezza nation. Yes, I'm a political woman. I am a politician. And I believe politics is a game of interest", Mrs. Nkwuda is quoted as saying.
"What I want to tell us is that I have come to APGA and I have come to stay. I did not come to watch or look around but to stay. And I will join hands with the leaders there to make it better because I know that it's Governorship candidate, Professor Benard Ifeanyi Odoh is the person that will rule Ebonyi State", the ex APC Women leader added.
Welcoming the new entrants, which included some aggrieved members of the PDP, the State Chairman of APGA, Chief Ricky Okorouka noted that APGA as a political Party is committed to rendering people-oriented programmes and policies for the overall the development of Ebonyi State.
