Ahead of the national population and housing census scheduled to be conducted in Nigeria in 2023, the National Population Commission (NPC) has launched its online portal for the recruitment of adhoc field workers.
The recruitment exercise which is expected to employ over 1.5million Nigerians is targeting about 25million applications.
Officials say, the e-recruitment portal has a geo fencing technology that will enable applicants to apply from their location of residence.
The NPC Census Manager, Nura Jalingo, told Pressmen at the launch that the portal has the capacity to accommodate about twenty five million applications from which qualified applicants will be hired for the adhoc job.
The National Population Commission Chairman, Isah Kwarra explained that launching the portal early was to give the census body ample time to hire the best hands for the job.
On the e-recruitment of adhoc workers in remote areas, the Commission assures that it will take systems to localities where there are no internet services for potential applicants
