Presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina has confirmed that Nigeria's leader, President Mohammadu Buhari will not be in the country for the next two weeks beginning from today, 31st October, 2022 at a time terror alerts on Nigeria, especially the Federal capital city, Abuja is on the red.
According to Adesina, the President will be in London, the United Kingdom, for routine medical checks that will last for a "maximum of two weeks".
This is contained in a short message by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina via his Twitter handle @FemAdesina.
The statement which was not specific on the exact date Mr. Buhari is expected back in Nigeria, simply read: "He returns to the country 2nd week of November, 2022".
Earlier today, President Buhari had chaired an emergency meeting of the National Security Council over the recent terror alert by the United States and United Kingdom missions, before proceeding to Owerri, Imo State where he declared open a retreat for senior police officers.
