Ekiti State House of Assembly Speaker, Hon. Afuye is Dead.

The Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Honourable Funminiyi Afuye has been reported dead after suffering a cardiac arrest.
Sources told africafirstnews.com that the lawmaker passed on at the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital on Wednesday.
It was gathered that Hon. Afuye was rushed to the hospital in the early hours of Wednesday, but could not make it.
He had attended all the public events in the past few days on the inauguration of the new Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, including the interfaith thanksgiving service organised to mark the commencement of the administration, on Tuesday.
Afuye, 66 years old was elected as the Speaker of the sixth Assembly in 2019.
He represented Ikere I constituency at the State legislature before his demise.
The late Afuye had served as Commissioner for Information during the first term of former Governor Kayode Fayemi between 2010 and 2014.
