It was a case of dog eat dog as a Police Inspector, Benedict Atule shot and killed a fellow Inspector, Samuel Ugwor in Umuahia, the Abia State capital over a minor altercation.
The Abia State Police Command spokesman, Geoffrey Ogbonna has confirmed the incident, saying the suspect is now in her custody at the State CID.
The two Police personnel deployed from the Special Protection Unit, Base 15 Anambra State, were among operatives attached to, Ginger Onwusibe, a State lawmaker representing Isialangwa North State constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly.
africafirstnews.com Correspondent in Umuahia was told by an Eye witness who wouldn't want his name in print for obvious security reasons, that there was an argument between the two policemen during which Inspector Atule shot the deceased Inspector.
The Source said, attempts to disarm the erring Police officer by other policemen in their team failed as he went berserk, threatening to kill more of the personnel.
The suspect reportedly escaped from the scene of incident with his AK-47 riffle, but later handed himself over to the State CID Umahia, where he is currently being detained.
