Another Lagos Lady Dies Of Alleged Domestic Violence

The sister of Bimbo, wife of popular car dealer, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, better known as IVD, has confirmed her dead, in what is alleged to be as a result of domestic violence.

The deceased sister made a social media post a few hours ago that Bimbo who was rushed to the hospital sometime this week after allegedly suffering severe burns during a domestic violence incident at their residence in the Lekki area of Lagos, had passed on.

Information from someone close to the family claims that on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, Bimbo confronted her husband  over the constant beatings she receives, but instead of amicably resolving the issues, an argument ensued and a fight broke out between the two.

Things reportedly went wrong to the point that their house was set ablaze, though there are no details yet on who among the two set the home on fire and how a physical fight had resulted to a fire outbreak.

Ikechukwu was said to have escaped from the inferno with minor burns, but Bimbo was not that lucky as she suffered several degrees of burns and was rushed to the intensive care unit of a nearby hospital.

Three days later, she lost the battle to live.

africafirstnews.com gathered that in May 2019, Bimbo had gone into coma after she was allegedly beaten by her husband, while carrying an eight month old pregnancy, at the time.

However, in early October, 2020, Ikechukwu was seen in a viral video purportedly making up with his wife, coming just days after Bimbo had released a post exposing how she had endured domestic violence for 19 years of her marriage.

Before her demise, Bimbo had five children for the automobile merchant.

The Lagos State Police Command is yet to speak on the incident, even as it's unclear whether Bimbo's relations have reported the matter to the security agencies.
