NNAMDI KANU FREE?
On Thursday, 13th October, 2022, the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, the Nigerian capital discharged Nnamdi Kanu of all the charges bordering on treason and terrorism.
Kanu is the leader of the outlawed separatist agitation group, the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB campaigning for a separate Biafran nation from the present Nigeria.
A three-man Appeal Court Justices held that the extraordinary rendition of Nnamdi Kanu from Kenya to Nigeria by the Nigerian government is declared "illegal".
The appellate court said the action of the Federal Government breached international treatises and the fundamental human rights of Kanu, consequently constitutes a bar to his further trail.
This is how Chief Mike Ozekhome, the lead counsel to the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu reacted to the judgment outside the Court room. [Watch Video]
