ECOWAS Holds 62nd Ordinary Session In Abuja


Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are in Abuja, Nigeria's capital for the 62nd Ordinary Session of regional body

The event holding at the Banquet Hall, State House, Abuja has in attendance the host, President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria; President of Guinea Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embalo who is also the Chair of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government; President Julius Mada Bio of Sierra Leone; President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana; and President Adama Barow of Gambia, among others.

The Summit started with the groundbreaking ceremony of the new ECOWAS building funded by the Chinese government.

The new President of the ECOWAS Commission, Omar Alieu Touray will be sworn in during the Session.
