Alleged US Documents On Tinubu Drug Deals Released.

A document circulating in the Nigerian Media suggests that the United States Northern District Court of Illinois has released a 1983 Court process allegedly indicting the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Drug dealings and money laundering cases in Chicago, United States of America.

The document which africafirstnews.com has a copy is dated 28th July 1983 and purportedly signed by Michael Shepard, a US Attorney and Masha McClean, Assistant United States Attorney, which stated that one Adegboyega Mueez Akande with others operated an organization which distributed white heroine, a controlled substance under title 21 of the United States Code.

An affidavit attached in the case noted that the drug distribution operation was conducted on a large scale with the proceeds allegedly deposited in the Bank accounts of the former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu domiciled in the First Heritage Bank, Compass Finance & Investment Company and Citibank International.

The documents further stated that the Illinois Court held that, by reason of facts in the attached affidavit, there was probable cause to believe that the funds found in the different Bank accounts represented proceeds of Narcotics trafficking, a violation of the United States laws.

The document which is being circulated at a time when Tinubu is deep into his political campaigns for the office of President of Nigeria, claims that the US Court had therefore ordered the forfeiture of the funds to the United States, thereby disposing of the funds according to the US laws.

But, the Campaign media office of the APC presidential candidate has denied the documents, dismissing it as a non issue and over circulated in the past.

Tinubu's private and public life including his ancestral background, education and business dealings have been a subject of public scrutiny in Nigeria in recent times following his emergence as the Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 general elections.
